The story of East Coast Joinery began with two friends and a small workshop. Zibi and Tomasz shared more than just a craft; they shared a belief that high-quality, thoughtful furniture can truly change the feel of a home.
Our journey started in 2012, when Tomasz and Zibi were employed at a small workshop managed by a gentleman who would eventually become one of our dearest friends – William Kelly. William had spent decades in the carpentry trade, specialising in solid timber work such as doors and windows. He treated us like family, and when he decided it was time to retire, he offered us the chance to take over his workshop.
It wasn’t much at the time – a saw, a planer, a few tools, and a lot of hope – but it was enough to get started.
Our beginnings were marked by hardship; the market was tight and work was intermittent. Nevertheless, we navigated those early fluctuations with persistence.
The turning point came around 2015. We shifted our focus to bespoke furniture and fitted joinery, instantly discovering our true calling. As interest blossomed and projects grew in complexity, our small two-person shop began to expand far beyond its humble beginnings.
By collaborating with talented architects and designers, we found partners who truly valued our craft. Their ambitious projects pushed us to evolve and sharpen our skills, helping us grow into the studio we are today.
Fast forward to now – East Coast Joinery is a team of seven skilled, reliable, and experienced people, each bringing their own expertise to the company. Together, we design, manufacture, and install high-end bespoke joinery for clients all over Ireland.
What began with a handful of tools in a humble workshop has evolved into a modern studio backed by a dedicated team. Our journey is a testament to the power of hard work, unwavering loyalty, and a deep-seated belief in the art of the craft.
